pvamos.net is a fully static website served by NGINX through Cloudflare. The site does not use advertising, client-side analytics, fingerprinting or other visitor-tracking code, and Cloudflare Web Analytics is not enabled. No analytics code is injected into the pages. The site's own JavaScript is limited to interface functionality. If a visitor manually selects light or dark mode, the selected theme (light or dark) is stored in the browser's local storage so that the preference can be remembered on future visits. This preference stays in the browser, is not sent to the server, and is not used for analytics, identification or tracking. If no theme preference has been stored, the site follows the browser or operating system's color-scheme preference.
Cloudflare acts as the reverse proxy, CDN and cache for this site. I use Cloudflare's built-in zone/HTTP analytics, which provides aggregate traffic information such as request counts, bandwidth, approximate unique-visitor counts and request countries. On the Free plan these figures can include legitimate visitors as well as crawlers and threats. These analytics are derived from normal HTTP/HTTPS traffic at Cloudflare's network edge rather than from tracking code running in the visitor's browser. The analytics view available to me does not provide individual visitor profiles or identities.
All visits to pvamos.net, including resources served directly from Cloudflare's cache, necessarily pass through Cloudflare. Cloudflare therefore processes the technical information required to handle HTTP/HTTPS requests, which may include IP addresses, traffic-routing data, system-configuration information and other request metadata. Cloudflare describes its handling of this information in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
When a requested resource is not served from Cloudflare's cache, the request is forwarded to the site's NGINX origin server. NGINX records standard web-server access-log information for a limited period. These logs are used only for operating the site, performance monitoring and tuning, and investigating technical or security problems.
The site is designed to minimize unnecessary collection of visitor data. Operational data is handled consistently and only for legitimate technical purposes, with an emphasis on data minimization, reasonable retention and established security and privacy practices.
